General Note:
View of the Byers-Evans House Museum located at 1310 Bannock Street in the Civic Center neighborhood of Denver, Colorado (1989 restoration by Long Hoeft Architects). The house has roof cresting, corbeled chimneys, covered porches and an enclosed second story porch. The two-story Italianate-style house was built in 1883 for William Newton Byers, founding editor of the Rocky Mountain News. William Gray Evans, son of Colorado Territorial Governor John Evans, purchased the home in 1889. The house museum is owned by the Colorado Historical Society.
