General Note:
View of the Stevens School Lofts (1901; Robert S. Roeschlaub, architect), formerly known as the Stevens School or the Clayton School, at 1140 Columbine Street in the Congress Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. The four-story Neoclassical building is brick with stone trim. The attic story is topped with a cupola. Notable features include an elliptical window and a round arched entrance. Developer Charles Nash and architect Niccolo Casewit rehabilitated the former school into twenty-five residential lofts in 1996. Modifications included adding windows, skylights, roof dormers and additional chimneys and vents to the roof.
