General Note:
View of the main entrance to South High School (1924; William E. and Arthur A. Fisher, architects) at 1700 East Louisiana Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. Shows a four-story, red brick, Italian Renaissance Revival-style school building with terracotta trim and a red tile roof. The main entrance doors are set on the ground floor of a three-story round arch. Red and white banded columns with elaborate capitals support winged animal figures. Above the entrance is a loggia with five arches. A griffin tops the roof. Students are nearby.
