The Cesar Chavez Peace and Justice Committee began the tradition of honoring Ceasar Chavez in 2002. The commemoration typically began with a Mass at St. Joseph's Church on 6th and Galapago in Denver. After mass, the march proceeds down 6th Avenue to Santa Fe Drive where awards presentations, poetry, art, music and food are featured to remember the leadership of Cesar Chavez."
