General Note:
From inventory: "Leroy "Korn" Maes was a leader of the Finerman lettuce strike in Center, Colorado in the San Luis Valley. Lead by Magdelena "Len" Avila, the workers struck for union recognition and persuaded the United Farm Workers of America (UFW) in California to recognize them as fellow UFW members. This strike sparked union activity across Colorado and resulted in the formation of the community organization "AHORA" to promote better conditions for farm workers and Latinos in the San Luis Valley.
