General Note:
From inventory: "In 1905 a fire destroyed several buildings in Antonito, Colorado. The photographer took this photo from the flat roof of an adobe building. Several boards and a dismantled wagon lie in the street. To the right of the men gathered in the center is a horse-drawn wagon that hauled three large wooden barrels of water. Also notice the long upright wooden ladder against the front of the drug store." (Hispanic Pioneers in Colorado and New Mexico, Colorado Society of Hispanic Genealogy, p. 5).
