Prehistoric Axes Found
fJ'WO pieces of ancient stone implements, believed to be about 30,000
year old hand axes, have been unearthed at Yamagata-machi, Naka-
gun, Ib.araki Prefecture. The new discoveries are the biggest of their
kind ever discovered in Japan and the most rare in shape.
A group of archeological experts will shortly conduct further ex-
^ cavations on a larger scale, in the neighborhood.
